Sarah Mable Kearns, 91, formerly of Sugarcreek and a resident of Country Club Retirement Center at Dover since 1996, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at 8:15 p.m. in Union Hospital at Dover after a brief illness.Born May 27, 1911, in Hoodville, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Ross and Laura Belle Wright Floyd.She was a homemaker and was formerly employed at Beachy’s Country Chalet at Sugarcreek. She attended the former Sugarcreek Church of God.She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Wenger, in May 1, 1978, and her second husband, Orvile Kearns, in January 1994.Surviving are secen daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Pat) Troyer of Columbia, Mrs. Wayne (Sara) Kamban of Brightwood, Mrs. Audrey Zahler of Dover, Mrs. John (Mary) Brink of West Lafayette, Mrs. William (Lovie) Jones of Chicago, Mrs. Manasses (Caroline) Troyer of Louisville, O., and mrs. Douglas (Sheila) McPeek of Dennison; one son, Chester (Sandy) Wenger of Strasburg; 32 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.Three daughters, two sons, and one sister are deceased.Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at 11 a.m. in the Smith-Geib Funeral Home at Sugarcreek. Rev. Ed Scaglione will officiate, and burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery at Sugarcreek. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W. 3rd St., Dover, OH, 44622.
