Sarah O. Jackson, age 92 of New Philadelphia, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010 in Union Hospital at Dover.Born in New Philadelphia on May 1, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas G. and Frances L. (Hawkins) Crites.After graduating from New Philadelphia High School in 1938, Sarah’s love story began with her late husband, O. Wayne Jackson.They were young sweethearts skating at Tuscora Park Skating Rink when their relationship began. On December 13, 1942 they were united in marriage at The First United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia. They enjoyed nearly 68 years of marriage before Wayne’s passing on November 24, 2010.Sarah’s lifetime was spent caring for her family. She was a loving mother and wife throughout her years.She was also a wonderful cook, enjoyed her flower gardens, and was an avid supporter of the New Philadelphia Quakers sports teams.Sarah leaves behind her two loving children, Mary Jill (Ron) McQuerrey of Marion, O. and Jeffery (friend, Lisa Nelson) Jackson of New Philadelphia; and her nephews.Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 from 1 to 3 p.m. A service celebrating Sarah’s life will immediately follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Bud Milligan officiating. Inurnment will take place in early spring in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.Friends are invited to the Geib Family Center following the funeral service where a time of fellowship and a meal will be shared.Memorial contributions in Sarah’s memory may be directed to either The First United Methodist Church, 201 West High Avenue, New Philadelphia, O. 44663 or Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W. 3rd St., Dover, O. 44622.
