Sarah Horsfall

Sarah Lou Horsfall, age 85, of Port Washington, died Tuesday, September 17, 2024, in Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital at Dover following a period of declining health. 

Born in Twin City Hospital at Dennison on June 4, 1939, Sarah was a daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Jones Horsfall. 

She was a 1957 graduate of the former Gnadenhutten School and was employed for more than 40 years with Tusco Manufacturing at Gnadenhutten. Throughout her tenure with the company, she held many jobs and responsibilities, including the head of the Shipping and Receiving Department. 

In her time away from work, Sarah enjoyed working in her flower gardens, watching the birds, playing puzzle games on her tablet, and rooting for Cleveland baseball and basketball. She adored and cherished time with her “peeps”, her grandsons, Ethan and Noah. 

She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Shelley (Scott) McGarr; her grandsons, Ethan and Noah McGarr; her brothers, David B. Horsfall all of Port Washington; Franklin Horsfall and John (Marion) Horsfall both of New Philadelphia; two nephews, Bruce (Susie) Horsfall and Rob (Amy) Horsfall and two nieces, Becky (Jason) Lucken, and Jonalee (Mike) Lesjak. 

In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Ann Purin; a nephew, Joel Horsfall; a niece, Rachel Horsfall; and a sister-in-law, Sandra Horsfall. 

The family will greet guests on Friday, September 20, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor Ned Horsfall will lead a service celebrating Sarah’s life in the funeral home’s chapel on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 1:30 PM. Burial will follow in the Fry’s Valley Moravian Church Cemetery.
