Sarah H. Beamer

Sarah “Sadie” H. Beamer, 89, of Wainwright, died Thursday, October 11, 2007 in Union Hospital at Dover following a period of declining health.A daughter of the late Frank and Laura (Metzger) Smith, Sarah was born at Wainwright, Ohio on September 18, 1918.Sarah retired from Alsco at Gnadenhutten in 1983 after 28 years of service. She enjoyed fishing and gardening and even mowing grass.She is survived by her children, Gary (Gwen) Beamer, Doris Horner, Shirley Smith and her companion, Melvin Neibert all of New Philadelphia and Jane (Albert) Dummermuth of Tuscarawas; one brother, Donald Smith of New Philadelphia; sisters, Marjorie Moore of Tuscarawas, Dorothy Reichman of New Philadelphia and Betty Smith of Dover; a daughter-in-law, Roberta Beamer of New Philadelphia; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.Sarah was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Beamer whom she married on June 29, 1937. John passed away on November 10, 1976. A son Dean, a son-in-law, Charles Horner; her brothers Frank, Andy and Floyd; one grandson and two great grandsons also preceded her in death.In keeping with Sarah’s wishes, there will be no calling hours and a funeral service celebrating Sarah’s life will be held on Monday, October 15, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia with Pastor Robert Sisson officiating.
