Santo Gennaro, age 77, of Dennison, formerly of North Royalton, passed away peacefully late Friday afternoon, April 23, 2010 in Union Hospital at Dover. Born at Cleveland on Valentine’s Day 1933, he was a son of the late William and Virginia Palmieri Gennaro. Best known as “Sandy” to his family and friends, he served two years in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. Upon retirement, Sandy relocated to the hills of Carroll County where he and his wife, the former Joan Smolinski observed their fifty-fourth wedding anniversary this year. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Gina (husband Anthony) Wypasek and a son, Anthony (wife, Jolene) Gennaro.Four grandchildren; Erica and Dominic Gennaro as well as Jason and Joseph Wypasek, a great-granddaughter; Lacy, three step-grandchildren; Rachel and Luke Duryea and Stephen Perry also survive. Two brothers, Anthony and James and a sister, Theresa Nalatelich, complete the family. In addition to his parents, a son, Dino and a daughter, Judith, are also deceased.
