Sandra Schrader

Sandra Kaye Schrader, 70, of New Philadelphia, died Monday, July 10, 2017 in Union Hospital at Dover following a sudden illness.

A daughter of Victor F. Schrader and the late Nettie Jean (Kinsey) Schrader, Sandy was born January 3, 1947 at Dover, Ohio.

Sandy was a 1965 graduate of Dover High School. She retired in January 2007 from Buckeye Career Center at New Philadelphia where she worked as a secretary for 36 years. Sandy was quite fond of the students and thought of them as children of her own. She was previously employed at Kent State University Tuscarawas Campus and National Bank at Dover. Sandy was also a volunteer at Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County where she performed secretarial work.

She is survived by her father, Vic; two sisters, Carol (David) Beyer of The Villages, Florida and Vicki (Dennis) Smith of Evans, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Kevin (Evette) Walter, Dr. Julie (Rob) Durando, Erik Walter, Carri Connell and Kelly (Kyle) Bentley; 10 great nieces and great nephews and many cousins.

In keeping with Sandy’s wishes, cremation will take place through the care of the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A memorial service celebrating Sandy’s life will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover with Pastor Mick Foster officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home prior to the service. A memorial reception will follow the service in Broadway United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia.
