Sandra M. Betche

December 10, 1939 — April 5, 2012

Sandra Marie Betche, age72, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, April 05, 2012, in Schoenbrunn Health Care Center at New Philadelphia following a lengthy illness.

A daughter of the late Thomas Paisley and Gladys (Haney) and Victor Bour, Sandy was born at New Philadelphia, Ohio on December 10, 1939.

She was a 1957 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and worked for a number of years as an insurance administrator for Kennedy Insurance as well as the Green Thumb Program. She was also a former bartender and member at the New Philadelphia VFW and Uhrichsville Army-Navy Clubs.

Sandy was an animal lover who had a passion for not only horses but all animals who crossed her path. As an accomplished seamstress, Sandy enjoyed making special clothing for her daughters. Additionally, she loved helping others and rarely passed up an opportunity to come to the aid of someone in need.

Sandy loved her family more than life itself and enjoyed the time she shared with each person, especially her daughters whom she was always honored to have as part of her life.

She will be greatly missed by her three daughters, Melissa Price of New Philadelphia, Paula (companion, Gregory Jarvis) Betche of Strasburg and Jessica (husband, Kenneth) Schmidle of Medina; a sister, Virginia (Carl) Loos of Dover and a brother, Brian (Sue) Bour of Bolivar.

Six grandchildren, William Clark, Angella (companion, Christopher Lyons) Tilman, Miranda (Ed) Ewing, Jolissa Price, Konnor and Kendal Schmidle; two great-grandchildren, Dallas Ewing and Shania Lyons and eight nieces complete the family.

In addition to her father, mother, and step-father, Sandy was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Bour.

The family will greet guests on Saturday, April 7, 2012 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A memorial service, led by Pastor Brian Flood, will be held in the funeral home’s chapel on Saturday at 4 PM. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Cremation care has been conducted through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover.
