Sandra Lee Meyers

Sandra Lee Meyers, 63, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009 in Union Hospital at Dover following a sudden illness.A daughter of Mary (Dunlap) Widdoes and the late Herbert Widdoes, Sandy was born August 11, 1946 at Dundee, Ohio.Sandy graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1964 and on June 2, 1968 she married the love of her life, Tommie Meyers. Together, the couple reared two daughters, Tonya and Dawn.She was a member of Sharon Moravian Church at Tuscarawas and enjoyed collecting bears and sewing dresses for her daughters when they were younger. Sandy also enjoyed painting ceramic dolls. Sandy cherished her family and considered her greatest hobby her grandchildren. Sandy is survived by her husband Tom; her daughters, Tonya Palmer and her husband William of Tuscarawas and Dawn Meyers and her fiancé David Anderson of Dover; her mother, Mary Widdoes of Dover and two grandchildren, Maranda Dawn Bania and Tommie Allyn Meyers-Palmer.Completing the family are her sister Marlene (Jim) Sulzner of New Philadelphia and her mother-in-law, Doris Schumacher of Goshen.She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Carol Pfister.The family will receive friends on Friday, November 6, 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Sandy’s life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 3 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel with Pastor Margaret Leinbach officiating.
