Sandra Kay Miller, age 67, of New Philadelphia, passed away early Thursday morning, November 5, 2009 in Union Hospital at Dover following a period of declining health.Born in Dover on October 27, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Madeline (Frye) Border.After graduating from New Philadelphia High School in 1960, she married her best friend and love, Eli A. Miller in The First United Church of Christ in New Philadelphia where they have remained active members throughout their lifetime. Together, they celebrated 48 years of marriage this year.Sandra loved her involvement at Union Hospital where she worked as a nurse’s aid for more than 15 years. There, she established life-long relationships with those she served. Sandra also loved caring for her family. Spending weekends at Salt Fork Lake on camping trips or taking her grandchildren on vacations were highlights in her life.Sandra and Eli were also dedicated members of The New Philadelphia Order of the Eastern Star.Sandra will be deeply missed by her husband, Eli, and her family including her two children, Deborah Bogan of Charleston, West Virginia and Bryan (Mary) Miller of New Philadelphia; her five grandchildren, Regina Miller, Breann Miller, Michaela Miller, Zachary Bogan and Andrew Bogan; a step-granddaughter, Nicole Tarella; her sister, Linda (William) Stokey of New Philadelphia; two step-great-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Marie (Dennis) Ollis in Dennison and her two brothers-in-law, Dan (Nancy) Miller of Wilmont and Earl (Linda) Miller of New Philadelphia.In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Jeff Bogan and her brother-in-law, John Miller.Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Sunday, November 8 from 2 to 5 p.m. A service celebrating her life will be held in The First United Church of Christ in New Philadelphia on Monday beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastors Jeff Gerber and Jill Lovett officiating. Burial will follow the service at South Lawn Cemetery in Beach City. Friends and family are invited to the Geib Family Center, located adjacent to the funeral home, where a meal will be shared.Sandra’s family requests memorial contributions be directed to The First United Church of Christ Building Fund, P.O.
