SANDRA KAY GOW, 60, died peacefully in her New Philadelphia home Sunday afternoon, April 13, 2003. Sandy was born in Dover to the late Donald and Helen Bear Goettge on August 20, 1942. She graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1960 then went on to attend nursing school. In 1961 Sandy met Robert W. Gow. The couple was married March 3, 1962. Along with her husband, she was a member of Jerusalem Church. Sandy enjoyed playing cards, particularly “500” and penny-ante poker and was a former member of the “Jolly 20” card club. With her husband, she enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and Alaska as well as spending winters at their home in Ellenton, FL. Best of all, Sandy liked being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She never missed her grandson Matthew’s ball games. She was a merchandising representative in the Tuscarawas valley for American Greetings for fifteen years. Sandy is survived by her husband, Bob, of the home; daughters Tammy (Keith) Jacobson and Debbie (Steve) Perretta; grandchildren, Matthew Anderson, Tyler and Courtney Jacobson and Carlie and Kasie Perretta, all of Canton; and a brother, Robert (Kathy) Goettge of Asheville, NC. Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 16, 2003 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday, April 17, 2003 at 1:30 PM in the funeral home with her pastor, Rev. Dr. Terry Downin, officiating. Burial next to her parents at East Avenue Cemetery will follow.
