Sandra Kay Fait, 82, of New Dawn Retirement Center at Dover, died Wednesday, January 31, 2018 following a period of declining health.
Born at New Philadelphia on August 25, 1935, Sandra was a daughter of the late Miller E. “Dutch” and Bernice (Steffey) Shonk.
She was a 1953 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and attended College at Kent State Tuscarawas. She served for many years as a Home Health Aide for the Tuscarawas County Health Department and was a member of the Mu Chapter of Alpha Sigma Pi.
Sandra had a deep love for animals, enjoyed reading mystery novels, watching NASCAR and being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Bobbi Mehok of New Philadelphia, Sally (Mark) Waltz of Dover; two sons, Dan (Sandy) Fait and Fred (Jackie) Fait all of New Philadelphia; ten grandchildren, Jeff (Krista) Mehok, Abbie (Josh) Anderson, Jenn (Terry) Howard, Kristen (fiancé, Josh Burt) Waltz, Bob (Kayla) Fait, Christina (Chad) Dixon, Danielle Fait, Jake Fait, Tiffanee Fait and Terri (Andrew) Douglas; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Fait, and a great-granddaughter, Annabelle Fait.
In keeping with Sandra’s wishes there will be no prior visitation. However, a graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11 AM in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia with Pastor Lloyd Gooden officiating. A meal and fellowship will be shared in the Sharon Moravian Church following the service.
