Ruth Pauline Severn

Ruth Pauline Severn, 87, of New Philadelphia, died Sunday, November 7, 2010 in Hennis Care & Retirement Centre at Dover.A daughter of the late John and Nellie (LeMasters) Tate, Ruth was born February 10, 1923 in Warren Township, Ohio.Ruth graduated from New Cumberland High School in 1941. She was a member of the Dover Chapter of AARP and the Dennison Friendly Senior Citizens.She is survived by a sister-in-law, Helen Haney of New Philadelphia; her nieces, Karen (Doug) Horning of Uniontown, Linda Tate of Dover and Nancy Baker of New Philadelphia; a great niece, Abby Fisher of Uniontown and a great great nephew, Michael Fisher of Uniontown.Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leroy D. Severn, a brother, John Tate and a brother-in-law, William Haney.Private burial will take place in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. A memorial service celebrating Ruth’s life will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Hugh Berry officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. A reception will follow the memorial service in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia.Contributions may be made in Ruth’s memory to the Friends of the Homeless, 211 East High Avenue, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
