Ruth (McBride) Kutscher, 89, of Dover, died Sunday, July 10, 2005 at Hennis Care Center in Dover.A daughter of the late Hosea Moses and Emma Doman (Schoffner) McBride, Ruth was born November 10, 1915 in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania.She was a 1934 graduate of West Chester High School and was the head bookkeeper at the former Reeves Bank in Dover.Ruth was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Philadelphia. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #222 as well as a life member of the Dover Historical Society. Ruth also enjoyed traveling, cross stitching quilts and reading her bible.Ruth will greatly be remembered for her generosity and caring for others.On July 27, 1941, Ruth married Oliver L. Kutscher, with whom she shared 38 years of marriage before his death on December 21, 1979She is survived by one daughter, Mary (Glen) Polen of Grove City, Ohio; one son, David (Nancy) Kutscher of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren, Bethany (Mark) Cummings of Grove City, Ohio and Zachary Polen of Grove City, Ohio; one brother, Edgar McBride of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania; and special friends, Lynn and Dale Vogel and Jean and Tony Ridgway.Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and six sisters and three brothers.Friends may call on Wednesday, July 13, 2005, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Geib Center in Dover with the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #222 conducting services at 5:45 p.m.. A funeral service celebrating Ruth’s life will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Geib Center in Dover with Pastor Michael Walters officiating. Burial will follow in East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia.Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s name to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 202 East High Avenue, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
