Ruth Kathleen (McHale) Grimm, 90, of Lexington, KY, formerly a life long resident of New Philadelphia, died on November 14, 2005, at the Lexington Country Place Retirement Center Nursing Home, in Lexington, Kentucky. A daughter of the late Walter B. and Lucy (Hensel) McHale, Ruth was born October 29, 1915, in Midvale, Ohio. She attended Midvale Elementary School prior to moving to New Philadelphia during the fifth grade. She graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1934. Ruth was an employee of the Tuscarawas County District Public Library for 19 years. She was the Tuscarawas County Bookmobile Librarian for 13 years prior to her 1971 retirement.Ruth was baptized as an infant in the Midvale Methodist Church and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia for most of her life, where she was active in the Women’s Society. She was also a life member of the Lady Elks in New Philadelphia and of several card and bridge clubs. Ruth moved to the Lafayette Assisted Living facility in Lexington, KY, in October of 2003, to be near her daughter and grandchildren. She is survived by three children; sons, Charles R. (Margie) Grimm of Yakima, Washington, and, John F. Grimm of New Philadelphia; a daughter, Beth A. (Grimm) Boisvert of Nicholasville, KY; four grandchildren, Danielle (David) Miller of Wilmore, KY, Michelle (Brandon) Wickey of Lexington, KY, Jennifer Grimm of Seattle, Washington, and Benjamin Grimm, of Seattle, Washington; five great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Ashley Miller, and Aceline, Brenna, and Connor Wickey; one sister, Rosemary (McHale) Houf of Chillicothe, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Betty Sanner Radenbaugh of Lancaster, Ohio, and Vivian McHale of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Ruth dearly loved her family and friends and enjoyed a wonderful life of traveling to visit many of them during her retirement years.Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Grimm whom she married on May 21, 1938, and with whom she enjoyed 44 years of marriage prior to his 1982 death. Also preceding her were her parents; her brother, Robert B. McHale; her son-in-law, Raymond L. Boisvert; step-mother, Bessie Thorley McHale, and step-sister JoAnn Thorley Rose.Visitation will be held on Friday, November 18, 2005 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Steven Bailey officiating. Burial will follow the service at East Avenue Cemetery.
