Ruth Evelyn Fagerland

Ruth Evelyn Fagerland, 97, of Dover and formerly of New Philadelphia, died Sunday, December 4, 2005 at Park Village Health Care in Dover.A daughter of the late Hans and Anna (Rapp) Fagerland, Ruth was born August 1, 1908 in Langford, South Dakota.She graduated from Langford High School in 1927 and then from Methodist State Hospital in Mitchell, South Dakota as a registered nurse in 1931.Ruth then moved to Canton, Ohio in 1932 where she worked as a nursing supervisor at Bethshan Rescue Home as well as the Molly Stark Sanitorium and Aultman Hospital. She also worked as a private duty nurse.She moved to New Philadelphia in the mid fifties and from 1961 until her retirement she worked as a receptionist and assistant to Dr. Richard Tolloti in his dental practice. Since 1987, Ruth has been under the kind and loving care of the staff at Park Village Health Care in Dover.Ruth, who was a member of Emmanuel Church in New Philadelphia, is survived by one sister-in-law, Esther (Minesinger) Fagerland of Langford, South Dakota, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.In keeping with Ruth’s wishes, there will be no services and cremation will take place at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia with inurnment taking place in Rose Hill Cemetery in Langford, South Dakota.
