Ruth Errington

November 21, 1921 — April 12, 2015

Ruth Errington, 93, of Dover and formerly of New Philadelphia, died Sunday, April 12, 2015 in Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late James and Hazel (Beamer) Chaney, Ruth was born November 21, 1921 at New Cumberland, Ohio.

Ruth was a long time and active member of the First Church of the Nazarene at New Philadelphia.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William “Bill” and Norma Errington of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Bill (Stacie) Errington of Columbus and Molly (Michael) Derrow of Virginia; her great grandchildren, Dylan and Sydney Errington, and Cody Errington; a brother James (Martha) Chaney of Tippecanoe; nieces, Kristin (John) Henning, Kathy Chaney, Kimberly (Art) Hopwood and Kelly Reichman; a nephew James (Lona) Chaney and many great nieces and great nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Harold L. Errington who passed away on June 11, 1979.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Jason Caddy officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover. Following the committal service a luncheon will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene at New Philadelphia.
