Ruth E Burrier

Ruth E. Burrier, 86, of Newcomerstown and formerly of Oldtown Valley, died Sunday, September 16, 2007 in Riverside Manor Nursing Home in Newcomerstown.Born December 3, 1920 in Newcomerstown, she was a daughter of the late Sigel and Edith Shaffer John. After completing her formal education at Newcomerstown, she spent the remainder of her lifetime as a homemaker, caring for her husband, the late Clarence A. Burrier, her four children, and her numerous grandchildren.She took great pride in having a meal prepared when anyone came to visit. She also enjoyed flowers and sewing.She is survived by her daughter, Carla (Leroy) Huff of Port Washington; three sons, David (Linda) Burrier of Newcomerstown, Robert (Connie) Burrier of Tomah, Wisconsin, and Gail (Julie) Burrier of Twinsburg, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles John; three sisters including Shirley McKnight; two sisters-in-law, Agnes (Burt) Varadi of Michigan and Gladys Burrier; one brother-in-law, William Emig; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 from 5 to 8 p.m. Services will be conducted by Rev. Dr. John States on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. in the Grace United Church of Christ at Stonecreek. Burial will follow in Stonecreek Cemetery.
