Ruth E. Belknap

Ruth E. Belknap, 61, of Dover died Friday, February 7, 2003 in Union Hospital at Dover following a brief illness.

Born in Roswell May 16, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Nellie Taylor Morrison and a 1959 graduate of the New Philadelphia High School.

Ruth was a homemaker and attended the First Church of God in New Philadelphia. She also loved going to garage sales and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Jerry R. Belknap, whom she married October 6, 1961; two daughters, Dana M. (Keith) Shaw of New Philadelphia and Bonnie K. Belknap of Gnadenhutten; two sons, Tom R. (Connie) Belknap of Mineral City and Tim L. Belknap of Newcomerstown; nine sisters, Sivilla Gnagy, Mary Lou Elliott, Betty (Jim) Romig, Mildred (Joe) Ricklic and Izena (Dale) Couch all of New Philadelphia, Theresa (Carl) Barger of Hamilton, Hazel (Larry) Carpenter of Marietta, Nina (Jim) Haney of Uhrichsville and Hilda (Ronald) Harding of Smithville; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and one great-grandson. A brother is also deceased.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at 1:30 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia with Pastor Matt Roe officiating. Burial will be at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2003 from 4 to 7 PM in the funeral home.
