Ruth Brown Hall Castelli, 79, formerly of Sandyville, OH, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Monday evening, January 5, 2004 while she was at Green County Memorial Hospital in Waynesburg, PA, with her loving family at her side.Ruth was born August 12, 1924 in Morgantown, WV, a daughter of the late John L. and Rose Lambes Brown.She was Pentacostal by faith and attended the Nylan Apostolic Church in Nylan, PA, where she was dearly loved. Ruth loved to sing, work crossword puzzles, cooking and canning. And she was even a published poet, recognized by the National Library of Poetry. Ruth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and took great pride in being a homemaker.One of 14 children, Ruth was preceded in death all her siblings, including eight brothers, Roy Lambes, Oliver, John, Burl, Edgar, Thomas, Junior, and William Brown, and three sisters, Eva, Mary Jane, Elizabeth, Hunton and Violet. Additionally, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Homer Thomas Hall and Orlando Castelli as well as her beloved daughter, Roxie Nicholson.Left to cherish Granny Ruth’s memory are he son, Terry L. Hall and his wife, Sandra; four grandchildren, Julie A. Mallernee, Terry L. Hall, II, Gilbert Clint Nicholson and Joseph Lee Nicholson; six great-grandchildren, Morgan & Dane, Sabrina & Axel, John & Jordan Lee; many nieces and nephews, family members and friends.The family will receive friends at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia, OH Wednesday, January 7, 2004 (tonight) from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be in the funeral home on Thursday at 10:30 AM with her Ruth’s daughter-in-law, Sandra, officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville. Immediately following the cemetery committal, a reception will be given in the Sandyville Methodist Church.
