Rudolph “J.R.” Ruffini, Jr.

Rudolph A. “J.R.” Ruffini, Jr. age 83, of Park Village Health Care Center at Dover and formerly of Roswell died early Friday, August 05, 2016.

Born on October 15, 1932, J.R. was born at Roswell on October 15, 1932 a son of the late Rudolph A. and Wilma (Conley) Ruffini.

J.R. graduated from Midvale High School, served in the United States Army, and retired from the former Evans Brick Company at Midvale. He was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church at Roswell prior to its closing and has been a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church at New Philadelphia.

He enjoyed the family’s annual golf outing, The Ruffini Open and in his younger years was a coach for Roswell Little League Baseball.

Survivors include his longtime companion Rita Casella of New Philadelphia; his sisters, Rose McDonald of Dover and Lianne Martin of Roxboro, NC as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, J.R. was preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Alpeter, Theresa Clum, Kathryn Moore, Rita Hochstetler and Irene Herron.

The family will greet guest on Monday, August 8, 2016 one hour prior to services from 12:30-1:30 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where Fr. Jeff Coning will lead a 1:30 PM service in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Following the service, a meal and fellowship will be held in Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home.
