Ruby V. Miller died October 24, 2010 after a long period of declining health in Hennis Care Centre at Dover. Born at Pedro, Ohio, June 20, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Ruth Cade. She had been a resident of New Philadelphia since 1967. Ruby worked tirelessly as a seamstress but was employed also at many local laundry and dry cleaner businesses.She was a longtime member of the New Philadelphia Church of Christ where she helped in the clothing benevolence room with many of her very close friends. She also loved gardening, mostly taking care of her several flower beds all around the house. Her husband of 49 years, Ralph, passed away in 1998. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Ginny Gehring of Indiana, and two brothers from Columbus, Tom and John Cade. Her four surviving sons, Fred (Janet), Joe, and Bob, all of New Philadelphia, and Dean (Ruth Ann) of Hartville, O. all wish to thank her many friends who tirelessly helped serve their mother’s needs during the last several months. She is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Baum and Faye Smith both of the Columbus area. Seven grandchildren and six-great grandchildren complete the family. Friends are invited to call Tuesday (TODAY) from 2-4 and from 6-8PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Mrs. Miller’s funeral service will begin Wednesday morning at 11 in the New Philadelphia Church of Christ, 749 Commercial Avenue SW. Interment will follow in New Philadelphia’s East Avenue Cemetery.
