Ruby Lois Casteel

Ruby Lois Casteel, 89, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, September 10, 2003. Born June 1, 1914 in Belington, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Truman and Rhonda Koontz Sturm. Mrs. Casteel enjoyed reading and watching television. Her grandchildren enjoyed getting letters from her, and will now treasure these remembrances from their grandmother.A homemaker her entire life, she lived in Seffner Florida for nearly thirty years with her late husband, Howard K. Casteel, who preceded her in death on May 27, 1983. Survivors include two daughters, Sue Lineberry of New Philadelphia and Donna Lou (Gary) Couch of Riverview, Florida; a sister, Wilma Berger of Akron; two sisters-in-law, Mary Sturm of Wooster, and Betty Sturm of Akron, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and one much anticipated great-great-grandchild due in just a few weeks. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Casteel was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters. Friends may call Monday, September 15, 2003 from 10 until 11AM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory, New Philadelphia. Pastor Matthew Roe, of the New Philadelphia Church of God, will officiate funeral services immediately following visitation in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial, alongside her husband, will follow at East Avenue Cemetery. Please direct memorial contributions to the charity of the donor’s choice.
