Ruby J. Kail, 85, of New Philadelphia, passed away July 22, 2015 in her home following a period of declining health.
Born in Sherrodsville on March 18, 1930, she was the daughter of the late George and Blanch Bower Storrie. After graduating from Gnadenhutten High School in 1948, she attended Canton Actual Business College.
Ruby worked in several area restaurants, the former Montgomery Ward credit department, and Contini Structural Steel Inc. as their secretary. In 1981, she co-founded Frenchy’s Fab Shop, retiring in 1992 as the company vice-president.
Ruby married her lifelong companion and friend, the late Robert Kail, Sr., in 1949. Together, they reared three sons, Ronald Kail of Tuscarawas, and Richard Kail and Robert Kair Jr., both of New Philadelphia.
She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Ron (Cherie) Kail, Jr., Amber (Justin) Wagnitz, Andrew (Jennifer) Kail, Benjamin (Deanna) Kail, Tami Merritt, Robbie Kail, and Cate Kail; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Storrie, Betty Day and Eileen (Bill) Peters.
In addition to her parents, and her beloved husband, Robert, in 2000, she was preceded in death by her brothers, George (Lee) Storrie Jr., John Storrie, Charles (Evelyn) Storrie, and Vernon Bower; her sister, Helen (Floyd) Dennis, and her granddaughter, Stacey.
Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. A service will be held in the funeral home Monday beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park.
Friends and family are invited to the Geib Family Center following the committal service where a meal will be shared.
