Ruby A. VanDyke, age 68, of Cambridge, died peacefully Saturday morning, April 2, 2005, in Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.Born in Pensacola, Florida June 6, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Edward Arnett and Lillian Holland. Ruby worked for more than twenty years as a sales clerk in an Army-Navy provisions store. Survivors include her husband of thirty-eight years, James VanDyke of Cambridge, their children, Doris Hall of Cambridge; Don W. (Jeanette) Hall of Napes, Florida; Chris Wilson of Greensboro, Florida; Linda (Billy) Walker of Cottonwood, Alabama; Cliff, (Joyce) VanDyke of Tampa, Florida as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ruby is preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers. Cremation has taken place at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Family and friends are invited to gather for a graveside service, led by the Rev. Dr. Steven R. Bailey of New Philadelphia, at 2 PM, Thursday, April 7, 2005, in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
