Roy E. Kinsey, 78, of Fry’s Valley, died Monday evening, March 22, 2004 at New Dawn Health Care Center in Dover.A descendent of early Fry’s Valley pioneers, Roy was born at Grange Hill near New Philadelphia on November 6, 1925 to the late Charles E. and Mary D. Stuckey Kinsey. After graduating from Gnadenhutten High School in 1943, Roy went to work for the Hercules Motor Company in Canton. He retired from there after forty years service as a tool man. During these years Roy cared for his dad’s farming of sheep, Black Angus and Hereford cattle. In the summertime, he made hay. He will also be remembered for helping his Fry’s Valley neighbors whenever needed.Roy attended Fry’s Valley Moravian Church. He also was a Fry’s Valley Dart Ball team member and former member of the New Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Eagles.Survivors include sisters, Mary Horsfall of Fry’s Valley; Marjorie J. (Vern) Denney of Lee’s Summit, MO; and Joy Light of New Philadelphia; brothers, Harold V. (Bernice) Kinsey of East Canton; and Duane Kinsey of New Philadelphia; many nieces, nephews, great as well as great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, sisters, Myrtle Kail, Ethel Medley, Grace Bruno and Florence Gibson; and brothers, Herbert, Eugene and Howard Kinsey, preceded Roy in death.Visitation will be on Thursday, March 25, 2004 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home where the funeral service will be conducted on Friday, March 26, 2004 at 10:30 AM. Rev. Michael R. Foran will officiate and burial will follow at Fry’s Valley Moravian Church Cemetery. Following the cemetery committal, everyone is invited to a reception in the Geib Family Center.Please, instead of flowers contributions should be made to the Fry’s Valley Moravian Church, 594 Fry’s Valley Rd., SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
