Rowena Agnes Poorman

Rowena Agnes Poorman, age 95, formerly of New Philadelphia, died Friday, July 31, 2020, in Hennis Care Centre at Dover.

A daughter of the late Emmett and Della (Marshal) Norris, Rowena was born at Coshocton, Ohio on September 8, 1924. She was a graduate of the former Roscoe Village High School and enjoyed working as a greeter at Walmart in New Philadelphia and volunteered for many years in the Twin City Hospital Coffee Shop. Rowena loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rowena will be missed by her grandchildren, Jenny (Brent) Morrison, Ashley (Chris) Sterner, Kristen (Stephen) Maple; her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Poorman-Rue, her great-grandchildren, Taylor, Blake Sophia, Sam, Shane, Sylvia, Jayden, and Noah.

In addition to her parents, Rowena was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Poorman; her son, Larry Poorman and her siblings, Lee, Melvin, Lemert and Majorie.

In keeping with her wishes there will be no public visitation or services. Cremation care will be conducted by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
