ROSE MARIE GRASSELLI PENROD, 76, of New Philadelphia, left the earth to join her beloved Bobby and son on Saturday morning, February 1, 2003 in Morning View Care Center. She was born in Dover to the late Santi and Ruby Dotts Grasselli on August 23, 1926. On January 25, 1947 she married Robert D. Penrod, who preceded her in death on February 11, 2000. Her life revolved around loving and caring for her family and friends. For twenty-five years, Rose worked as a cook for the Tuscarawas County Home. She enjoyed flower gardening and will be fondly remembered for her excellent cooking skills. She is survived by daughters, Barbara (George) Hess and Susie (Bernie) Ankrom; sons, Gene (Elaine) Penrod and Steven (Teresa) Penrod, all of New Philadelphia; sisters, Grace “Sally” (Lael) Osteen of Dale, TX, Francie (Tim) Peters of New Philadelphia and Betty (Robert “Hap”) Cross of Barnhill; brothers, Santi (Gloria) Grasselli, Jr., John (Sandi) Grasselli and Ralph (Nancy) Grasselli, all of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Amy Marie (Kevin) Rybarczyk, Matt Hess, Brandi Ankrom and Tony Ankrom, Mike Penrod, Ben Penrod, Jessica Rose Penrod, Bobby (Catherine) Penrod, Joey Penrod, Genia Marie Penrod and Brooke Rose Penrod; great-grandchildren, Tyler Robert Rybarczyk and Giovanna Penrod. In addition to her parents and husband, Rose was preceded in death by her infant son, Robert Eugene Penrod on October 8, 1950; three brothers, Harold, Joe and Jim Grasselli; two sisters, Clara Grasselli and Marie Basiletti and an infant sister. Calling hours will be on Monday, February 3, 2003 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home. The funeral will be Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at 1:30 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Richard G. Rose officiating. Burial alongside her husband will follow at East Avenue Cemetery.
