Rose Lucille Scolati

Rose Lucille “Posie” Scolati, 84, of New Philadelphia, died Sunday, April 19, 2009 in Union Hospital at Dover.A daughter of the late Severino and Rose (Ruffini) Pancheri, Posie was born November 10, 1924 at Roswell, Ohio.Posie was a 1942 graduate of Midvale High School. On August 5, 1944, she married the love of her life, Louis Eugene Scolati, just prior to him leaving for World War II. The couple reared five children, Carol, Connie, Cathy, Louis and Laurie.She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and she enjoyed various activities such as traveling and playing cards with her friends. Most of all, Posie enjoyed spending time with her family including her monthly meetings with her cousins.She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Louis Scolati; her children, Carol (Joseph) Marzich, Connie (John) Caravati, Cathy (Pat) Lahmers, Louis (Sherry) Scolati and Laurie (Jeff) James; ten grandchildren, Christine (Gary) Valko, Kimberly (Scott) DeBonis, Michael (Amanda) Marzich, Lisa (Mike) Feik, David Caravati, Steve (Helen) Caravati, Jennifer Lahmers, Shaun Paul and Alyssa and Evan James; eight great grandchildren, Rachel and Ava Grace Valko, Dominic and Anthony DeBonis, Alana and Drew Marzich, Madilyn Feik and Hayden Paul and one sister, Mary Cusano Bender.Posie was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Joseph Pancheri.In keeping with Posie’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. Father William Arnold will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 12 p.m. in Sacred Heart Church at New Philadelphia.
