Rose L. Walker

Rose L. Walker, 84, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, June 14, 2006 in Park Village Health Care Center at Dover.A daughter of the late Attilio and Ida (Baggia) Martinelli, Rose was born March 26, 1922 in Roswell, Ohio.She attended Roswell Schools and was retired from Belmont Steel. Rose was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia and was a member of the former St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church at Roswell. She was also a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.Rose will be remembered as an excellent cook who enjoyed preparing meals for her family.She is survived by one son, William “Jeep” Walker of Jacksonville, Florida; one daughter, Gloria Jean (Robert) Redmerski of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Gary Walker, Brent (Korey) Walker, Michael (Alicia) Haynes, Eric Haynes, Cindy (David) Glazer and Tammy (John) Burrell; seven great grandchildren and one brother, Gino (Carmella) Martinelli of New Philadelphia.Rose was preceded in death by parents; her loving husband, William Walker who passed away on September 7, 1979; one grandson, Mark Walker and three brothers, Angelo, Victor and Bruno Martinelli.Family and friends may call in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Friday, June 16, 2006 from 5 to 8 p.m. with a Christian Wake Service being held at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial following in St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery at Roswell.Memorial contributions may be made in Rose’s name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 139 Third Street NE, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
