Rose Ellen Rader, 85, of Sugarcreek, passed away January 23, 2015 in her home.
Born in Dover on May 7, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Ida Pearl (Yeager) Rothacher.
Rose married her late husband, Samuel T. Rader, and together, they had 7 children whom she nurtured and raised. He preceded her in passing on December 24, 1965.
She loved to spend her time working crossword puzzles, sewing, making quilts, and journaling. On Sunday she could often be found at McDonalds enjoying a meal.
Rose is survived by her children, Vena S. (Richie) Clark of Coshocton, Janet Swisshelm of Tuscarawas, Janice (Perry) Underwood of Stone Creek, and Stephen Rader of Coshocton; her siblings, Rudy (Sally) Rothacher of New Philadelphia, Larry (Carolyn) Rothacher of Fort Wayne, IN, and Laura Heidy of Baltic; 18 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Rose was preceded in death by her companion, Torrence Arnold; three children, Howard, Noreen, and Lloyd; and eight siblings.
Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover, 5600 N. Wooster Ave, Dover, Ohio 44622 on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. A service celebrating Rose’s life will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will immediately follow in Union Hill Cemetery at Sugarcreek. A meal will follow in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover following the committal service.
