Rose E. Weigand, 85, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, January 28, 2006 in Oak Pointe Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center in Baltic.A daughter of the late Lloyd and Emma (Render) Pealy, Rose was born November 12, 1920 at Canton, OhioShe was a 1940 graduate of Mineral City High School. She then graduated from Beauty School in Canton and was a beautician at Zela Ross’s Beauty Shop in New Philadelphia. In her 50’s, she went back to beauty school and renewed her license and went to work with her daughter in her beauty shop in New Philadelphia.Rose was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Philadelphia and was active in the Tuesday Night Women’s Bowling League for over 50 years. She enjoyed canning and being a homemaker for her family and Rose loved to stay in contact with her dear friends.Rose will be dearly missed by her family, and her grandsons, Doug and Jeff, will remember her always as the best grandmother anyone could hope to have.She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and William “Bill” Winters, Jr. of New Philadelphia; two grandsons, Douglas W. Winters of St. Louis, Missouri and Jeffery A. Winters of New Philadelphia; one sister, Lucille McCully of New Philadelphia; two brothers, Wallace Pealey of Zoarville and Francis Finley of Uhrichsville; two sisters-in-law, Beatrice Koeller of Youngstown and Marge (Dick) Warner of Canton; one brother-in-law, Herm (Mary) Weigand of Dover; and many nieces and nephews.Rose is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years, William J. Weigand, Jr., whom she married on November 29, 1941, one son, Ronnie Weigand; three sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2006 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Philadelphia with Monsignor George Schlegel officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Following the committal service, a memorial luncheon will be held in the Geib Family Center in New Philadelphia.
