Rose C. Pennington

Rose C. Pennington, 92, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, April 29, 2011 in Park Village Health Care Center at Dover.A daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Kovic) Lopenski, Rose was born December 23, 1918 at Roswell, Ohio.Rose was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia and the Sacred Heart Senior Citizens. She was also a member of the Tuscarawas County Senior Center, the New Philadelphia V.F.W. Post #1445 Auxiliary and the Dover Steelworkers Retirees.She is survived by a daughter, Edith Wendling and a son, Terry (Mariann) Pennington both of New Philadelphia; seven grandchildren, Brian (Lisha) Pennington of Richland, Michigan, Jeffrey (Lisa) Pennington of Hillsborough, New Jersey, Michael (Phoebe) Pennington of Enola, Pennsylvania, Kimberly (James) Bird of New Philadelphia, Kathy Wendling of Dover and Scott (Linda) Wendling and Steve Wendling both of New Philadelphia; 12 great grandchildren, Tyler, Danielle, Joseph and Nicklas Pennington, Ashley and Trenton Bird, Kelsie, Kyle and Hallie Wendling, Katie and Abbie Breyer and Alison (Justin) Townsend and many nieces and nephewsRose was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Charles C. Mangon; her second husband, Noble Pennington; four brothers and a sister.The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 1, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia with a Christian Wake service being held at 7:45 p.m. Father Jeff Coning will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, May 2, 2011 at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
