Rose C. Chini

Rose C. Chini, age 87, of Dennison, died peacefully Monday, June 27, 2011, in Country Club Retirement Center at Dover following a period of declining health.A daughter of the Anthony “Tony” and Mary Rose (Vichone) Battalio, Rose was born on January 4, 1924, at Lisbon, Ohio.On August 24, 1946, she married the love of her life, Frank Chini and reared two children. Rose and Frank celebrated 57 years of marriage prior to Frank’s death on December 21, 2003.Rose was a long-time member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Dennison and was a devoted homemaker, caregiver and baker, to her family.She is survived by two children, Mary Jo Stewart of Dennison, and David (Rebecca) Chini of Uhrichsville; six siblings, Albert C. Battalio, Phyllis (Don) Garner, Mary Marinelli all of New Philadelphia, Josephine Batcha of Boca Raton, Florida, Angie (Frank) Festi of Dover, and Lena Callahan of Salem, Ohio.Five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews complete the family.In addition to her parents and husband, Rose was preceded in death by four brothers, Anthony, Alfred, Thomas, and John Battalio; and a sister, Helen Smith.There will be no public visitation or services. Cremation care will be conducted through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover. Private burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery at Dennison.Memorial contributions in Rose’s name may be directed to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 206 N First Street, Dennison, Ohio 44621.
