Rosalind Faye Stewart, age 87, of Country Club Retirement Center at Dover and formerly of Strasburg, died Tuesday, December 20, 2011 following a period of declining health.A daughter of the late Lewis Ray and Norma Ruth Olinger Berkshire, Faye, as she was known to family and friends, was born on December 31, 1923 at Coshocton, Ohio.She was a 1942 graduate of West Lafayette High School and married Kenneth Norman Stewart on April 9, 1944. Together, the couple reared two children and shared in 36 years of marriage prior to Kenneth’s death on March 26, 1981.For many years, Faye was sales clerk for Shaw-Barton and W.T. Grant and provided bookkeeping services to Frank Johnson Electric and Farmer Smith’s Market.Faye was a long-time member of the Strasburg United Methodist Church and formerly held membership with the First Presbyterian Church at New Philadelphia and Warsaw. She enjoyed her work as a volunteer with the Big Brothers â?? Big Sisters Program and AARP. In her free time, Faye participated in league bowling with the “Seasoned Seniors”, quilting and playing the card game, Hossie.Faye is survived by a daughter, Nancy Stewart and her companion Jerry Graham of New Philadelphia; a sister, Dorothy Stokes of Spring Hill, Florida; and a brother, John W. Berkshire of Middleburg, Florida.In addition to her husband, Faye was preceded in death by her son, Norman Dean Stewart, and three brothers, Everett, Robert, and Kenneth Berkshire.A graveside service led by Pastor Lynda Masters will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2011, at 1:30 PM in the Prairie Chapel Cemetery at Coshocton.
