Roosevelt E. Wilson, Jr. age 54 of Dover, died Monday, January 6, 2014 in his home following a lengthy illness.
Born at Cleveland, Ohio on October 30, 1959, He was a son of Roosevelt Wilson and Frances (Samuel) Grimes all of Cleveland.
Following high School, Roosevelt entered into the United States Army where he served as a member of the Infantry from 1979-1982. Upon his release, he worked for nearly a decade for Sterilite Plastics and later was employed by Express Packaging at Newcomerstown until his health would no longer allow him to work.
Roosevelt had many passions in life that included being with his family as they spent time outdoors barbequing and entertaining guests. He also enjoyed swimming, motorcycle riding, and being an avid movie watcher.
In addition to his parents, Roosevelt will be deeply missed by his companion of 17 years, Christina Radtke of the home; children, Jerrod Wilson of Tennessee, Loving Wilson of Canton, Baylee Radtke, Jasmine Wilson and Dorian Wilson all of the home.
Completing the family are two sisters, Dorenne (Jeff) Martin of Arizona and Cherrie Wilson-Harris of Cleveland as well as aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM in the First Baptist Church at Dover. Rev. Christoper Lowery will lead a celebration of Roosevelt’s life in the church at 11:00 AM. Immediately following the service, a time of food and fellowship will be shared in the church social hall.
