Ronny Mason

Ronny “Bus” Emery Mason, 77, of Canton and formerly of New Philadelphia passed peacefully on January 13, 2016.

Born on July 20, 1938, at Dover Ohio, he was the son of the late Roland Emery Mason (d. 2003) and Mary Kathryn (Knisely) Mason (d. 1989).

Ronny was a standout football player for New Philadelphia and graduated in 1956. He loved going to the University of Mount Union football games and attended nine of their National Championship wins.

From 1960-1968, Ronny served as a Tank Commander in the Army National Guard. He maintained an active life until recently, often playing softball, badminton, and volleyball regularly with his friends and kept in contact with many of his childhood friends.

He retired from American General Insurance (AGI) in 2000 after 38 years. While with AGI he received many awards for Outstanding Sales; and was proud that he rarely went a week without selling a policy.

He is survived by his children Kelli (John) Mason­Devlin and Michael (Janet) Mason. He is also survived by his cat Ebony, whom he loved dearly.

There will be no public visitation or services. Cremation through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory will take place.
