Ronnie Carr Carpenter, age 58, of Stone Creek passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, April 14, 2013 in his home, following a brief illness.
Born June 8, 1954, at Spencer, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Franklin Carr and Dorothy Ellen Armstead Carpenter.
A 1972 graduate of Fairless High School, he went to work for Orrville Products briefly before starting a career that would span 34 years at Genie Garage Door, that would earn him the distinction of having the most seniority in his plant.
He’ll be remembered as a dedicated and hard worker, who spent his spare time following NASCAR, and working on projects in his garage and around the yard.
Survivors include his wife, the former Wendy Reynolds, of the home. The couple wed September 29, 2000.
Ronnie will be sadly missed by a daughter, Christina Elliott of Uhrichsville, grandchildren Seth Elliott of Midvale and Sage Elliott-Moss of Dover, a brother, James (Theresa) Carpenter and a sister, Brenda (Don) Hall, all of Navarre. A brother-in-law, Bob May of Massillon, and many nieces and nephews, complete the family.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his sister, Diane May, and a grandson, Joshua Elliott.
Friends are invited to call Wednesday, April 17, from 5-8 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where Chaplain Chad Durfee will lead Mr. Carpenter’s funeral service Thursday, April 18, at 10 AM in the funeral home’s chapel.
