Ronald Wayne Sprowl, age 74, of Port Washington passed away early Monday, May 29,2023, in Community Hospice Truman House after a period of declining health.
Born in Kenova, West Virginia on June 2, 1948, he was a son of the late Wayne Henry and Reva Ellen (Grizzel) Sprowl.
Ron served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After his years of military service, he began his career as a machinist at Joy Manufacturing in New Philadelphia. Ron was a jack of all trades and always enjoyed talking about old cars. For the past 40 years, Ron has taken great pride in living and working on his family’s 119-acre farm.
On March 27, 1971, he married the former Terrie Dodds, and together they have enjoyed 52 years of marriage. He is also survived by his son, Shawn (Tracey) Sprowl of Port Washington; grandchildren, Dalton (Michala) Sprowl, Taylor (Cole) Czech, Clayton Sprowl, Abby (Devan) Lake, Emma Sprowl, and Melody Sprowl; great-grandchildren, Tenley, Presley, Tucker, and Caroline; brother, Roger Sprowl; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Henry and Reva Ellen Sprowl.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 1:00 PM in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, Ohio.
