Ronald Patterson

Ronald L. Patterson, age 85, of Dover, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 after a period of declining health.

The oldest child of Roy and Pauline Patterson, he was born on May 26, 1932 in Millersburg, Ohio. Following his graduation from Holmesville High School with the class of 1950, he entered the United States Air Force and served from 1951-1956. He retired as Controller from Greer Steel in 1990.

He and Ann Seigley of Apple Creek were married in 1954 and they celebrated their 63rd anniversary on August 15, 2017. He was proud of their three children, Mark (Ruth) Patterson of Falmouth, MA, Dr. Scott (Karen) Patterson of Rocky River, OH, and Gina (Daniel) Slentz of Hallandale Beach, FL. Four grandchildren, Lily and Celia Patterson and Abby and Gracie Slentz complete the family. Also surviving are his two brothers, James Patterson of Wooster and Paul (Judy) Patterson of Carnegie, PA.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister-in-law, Janice Patterson.

Friends will be received from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Geib Funeral Center in Dover on Friday December 1, 2017. Private services will held by the family when the cremains are interred.

The family would like to thank New Dawn Health Care for their exceptional care of Ron during his stay there.

Memorials may be sent to Community Hospice who led his medical care or to The Wilderness Center at Wilmot, OH where he was a past member of the Board of Trustees.
