Ronald Lloyd Moore

Ronald Lloyd Moore, age 82, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, February 12, 2021, in Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital at Dover while under the care of Community Hospice.

Born on July 1, 1938, in Tuscarawas, Ron was a son of the late Edward Moore and Wilma Carpenter Moore Amicone. He was a graduate of the former Tuscarawas-Warwick High School. After his graduation, he entered into the United States Air Force and honorably served his country from 1956-1960.

His adult life saw a successful business career in electronics and computers which led to numerous promotions and business advancements and the relocation of his family to Illinois, Connecticut, and South Carolina. Ron’s business career featured many trips to Europe and Japan and culminated with him serving on the Board of Directors for the Konica Copier Company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. In 2001, Ron and his late wife, Lena, returned back to the area in which they were raised and settled in New Philadelphia.

While Ron was a successful businessman, he would share that his greatest achievement in life was his family, having married his high school sweetheart, Lena, and later raising his sons, Brian and Jeffrey. He worked hard to provide the best life possible for them. He was an avid football fan, fisherman, boater, and loved to restore antique cars.

Surviving is his son, Jeffrey Moore of Akron; a granddaughter, Rhiannon Moore of St. Louis, Missouri; a grandson, Ryan Moore of Los Angeles, California; his siblings, Joyce Henry, Carol Mizer, Brenda Arnold, and Francis Moore as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Ron was preceded in death by his son, Brian Moore.

A funeral service celebrating Ron’s life will be led by Pastor Brian Flood at 11 AM on Thursday, February 18, 2021, in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. The family will greet guests in the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 10-11 AM. Burial, with military honors, will take place in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Those unable to attend are welcome to watch a live broadcast of Ron’s service via the funeral home’s Facebook Page, Facebook.com/geibcares.

At this time, the six-foot rule will be honored and all guests are required to wear a mask to enter the funeral home. For the safety of everyone, and to allow other guests to pay their respects, we politely ask that visitors do not linger in the funeral home and to promptly exit the building after greeting the family.
