Ronald Gibson, 78, of Gnadenhutten, died Thursday, June 5, 2014 in Aultman Hospital at Canton following a period of declining health.
A son of the late Coleman “Jack” and Jane (Schaar) Gibson, Ronald was born February 29, 1936 at Nineveh, Ohio.
In 1986 he started TJ’s Restaurant at Stone Creek. He operated the restaurant until his retirement in 2000 when his son took over operations.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth (McMullen) Gibson whom he married on September 2, 1956; his children, Tammy (Greg) Ellwood of Gnadenhutten and Jeff (Shirley) Gibson of Stone Creek; his grandchildren, Tiffany (Mike) and Shawn (Ashley); great grandchildren, Kayne, Karter and Micah; a sister, Connie Lindon of Gnadenhutten and his nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary Gibson.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Ronald’s life will be held on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Darrell Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Gnadenhutten Clay Union Cemetery.
