Ronald Allen “Buck” Lineberry, 85, of New Philadelphia passed away surrounded by his loving family on August 11, 2016 in Aultman Compassionate Care Center in Canton.
Born in New Philadelphia on March 4, 1931, he was the son of the late John D. and Vera G. (Engler) Lineberry.
Buck was a Korean War veteran, honorably serving his country in the United States Army from 1948 to 1952. He was a life member at the Uhrichsville VFW. After completing his military service, he worked for 35 years as a machinist at The Timken Co. in New Philadelphia where he retired.
Buck loved to play the guitar, golf, bowl, and complete crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed watching and feeding the hummingbirds and following sports on television.
On June 25, 1977, Buck married his loving wife, the former Janet Kay Ferguson. He will be deeply missed by his wife; his children, Michael (Jo) Lineberry of New Philadelphia and Rondee (Mark) Kappler of Loganville, GA; his brothers, Gary (Evelyn) Lineberry of Lakemore, OH and Jack Lineberry of New Philadelphia; his sister, Alice Bruckner of Massillon; his grandchildren, Angela (Luis) Valenzuela, Abel Kappler, Aaron (Allison) Kappler and Michael Lineberry; eight great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Gabriel, Carmen, Kailey Ann, Ashlyn, Emma, Grace, and Mya, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Buck was preceded in death by his siblings, E. J. Kirkman, Betty Renner, and Donna Muelhoffer.
Pastor Don Snow will officiate a Memorial Service in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover on Thursday beginning at 11 am with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial following in Ridgecrest Memory Garden where the Dover VFW will render military honors.
Memorial contributions in Buck’s memory may be directed to the Aultman Compassionate Care Unit.
