Roger E. McCoun

ROGER E. McCOUN, 75, of Newcomerstown, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at Union Hospital in Dover following a brief illness.Roger was born near Bakersville on June 7, 1928 to the late Walter H. and Martha E. Nelson McCoun and was one of fourteen children. By profession, Roger worked as a file cutter at Simon’s in Newcomerstown. When not working, he enjoyed working in his vegetable garden.He is survived by his wife, the former Martha L. Blackwell, whom he married November 10, 1962; fours sons, Jerry A. (Teresa) McCoun of Dover, Marvin L. McCoun, Fred E. (Kendra) McCoun and Victor R. McCoun, all of Newcomerstown; seven grandchildren, Winona, Jeremy, Denver and Ivana McCoun and Heather, Ashley and Michael McCoun; sisters and brothers, Marie Stein, Bernice Burge and Floyd (Thelma) McCoun, all of Newcomerstown and Donald (Nancy) McCoun of West Lafayette. In addition to his parents, two sisters, Ora Burge and Evelyn Toland and three brothers, Charles, Herbert and Dick McCoun, preceded Roger in death.There will be no visitation or funeral services. Cremation is through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Cremation Service.
