Robin Adair Taylor, 71, of Uhrichsville, passed away Friday, December 26, 2003, at Union Hospital in Dover.Born February 9, 1932 in Midvale, he was a son of the late James Taylor and the former Ethel Carroll. After attending high school at Midvale, he joined the United States Army and honorably served our country as a Corporal until he was discharged in 1960. After his military service, he worked for numerous companies and completed his working career as a molder for the former Joy Manufacturing in New Philadelphia.In addition to his participation at Rush Nazarene Church, he was also a member of the Dover V. F. W., a former member of the Midvale V. F. W., and a member of the P. W. P. for numerous years.He will long be remembered as a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. No matter who visited him at his home, he made them feel welcome. In addition to his daily ritual of reading the newspaper and having coffee, Robin enjoyed gardening. He taught most of his family how to plant tomato plants just the right way. He also enjoyed fishing in his earlier years and was an avid sports enthusiast. During Christmas, Robin also loved dressing up as Santa Claus at the holidays and listening to children’s wish lists.Robin will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Arvilla (Doug) Harding of Uhrichsville and Ann (Paul) Grove, Sr. of Baltic. He is also survived by a sister, Marjorie Schumacher of New Philadelphia; six grandchildren, Trish (Daniel) Maurer of Dundee, Elizabeth and Michele Harding, both of Uhrichsville, Shay Grove of Baltic, P. J. Grove of Baltic, and Thomas Harding of Uhrichsville; and two great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Lucas Maurer of Dundee.In addition to his parents, Robin was preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Partridge-Goodman, and three brothers, Albert, Jerry, and Richard.Visitation will be held at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home on Monday, December 29, 2003 from 4:00 to 6:30 PM, with a service immediately following calling hours in the funeral home’s chapel. Pastor Doug Downs and Rev. Cathy Hawkins will officiate the service. At the conclusion of the service, military rites will be presented by the Dover VFW Post # 3463 at the funeral home. Friends and family are welcome to join the family for a meal in the Geib Family Center immediately following the presentation of military rites.Cremation will be under the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia.
