Roberta Kay Beamer

Roberta Kay Beamer, age 75, of Wainwright died Wednesday, June 22, 2016, while in the care of Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia.

A daughter of the late William R. and Mary (Nelson) Syler, Roberta was born at the family home in Baltic on February 23, 1941.

She graduated from Baltic School, now Garaway Schools, and married Donald D. Beamer on May 27, 1962. Together the couple shared 43 years of marriage prior to his death on July 17, 2005.

In her younger years, Roberta loved crocheting, gardening, canning and caring for her family. As she grew older, she enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Ricky (Vicki) Beamer of Dover, and Sheila (Kevin) Mutti of Stonecreek; her grandchildren, Christine (Brandon Danley) Mutti, Clarissa (CJ) Lanzer, Clark Mutti, Audrea Beamer, and Carson Beamer; her great-grandson, Dean Mutti; her siblings, Elmer “Bud” Syler, Marilyn Geckler, Clara Ellen Young, James (Pauline) Syler; her sisters-in-law, Ruth Syler, Eileen Syler, Doris Horner, Shirley Smith, Jane Dummermuth; a brother-in-law, Gary (Gwen) Beamer and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Roberta was preceded in death by siblings, Arlene, Doran, Fritz, Bill, and Robert as well as brothers-in-law, Charles Horner, Albert Dummermuth, Bob Geckler, and Russell Young.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 10 -11 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where Rev. Hugh B. Berry will lead a service beginning at 11 AM in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
