Robert Zontini

Robert S. Zontini, 76, of New Philadelphia passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014 in Union Hospital at Dover following a year-long battle with lung cancer.

Born in Barnhill on June 30, 1937, he was the son of the late Samuel R. and Edith (Fondriest) Zontini. After graduating from Midvale High School in 1955, Bob worked for the former Evans Brick in Midvale. In 1989, he opened the former Certified Beverage Drive Thru that he owned and operated until 2003 when he retired.

On April 7, 1956, he married his lifelong companion, the former Georgianne Decker. Together, they enjoyed 58 years of marriage.

He is survived by Georgianne; his sons, Robert (Pam) Zontini and Roland (Lori) Zontini, both of New Philadelphia; his grandchildren, Haley, Alex, Madison, Nicci, Ashley, and DJ; his sister, Rosalie (Robert) Sciarini of New Philadelphia; and his brother, Samuel (Barbara) Zontini, Jr. of Houston, Texas.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter.

No public visitation or services are scheduled. Private inurnment at Calvary Cemetery in New Philadelphia will be conducted at a later date.
