Robert Sommers

Robert R. Sommers Sr, 60, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia following a lengthy illness.

A son of the late Carl Sommers and the late Helen Powell, Bob was born March 23, 1955 at Dover, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah (Burris) Sommers whom he married on July 22, 1995; his children, Lisa (Keith) Swaim and Robert Sommers Jr. both of Uhrichsville, Amber (Landon) Anderson of Dover and Jeffrey Newell and Sabrina Moore both of New Philadelphia; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; his siblings, Elizabeth (Ray) Hamblin of New Philadelphia, Carl (Tina) Sommers Sr. of Dennison, William (Robin) Corpman and Richard (Helen) Sommers both of Port Washington and Tom (Kelly) Powell of Dennison; an uncle Raymond (Joyce) Prall and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 3 p.m. Burial will follow in Roxford Church Cemetery.
