Robert M. (Robbie) Woods I, 56, of Marion, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17th, 2018 surrounded by the love of his family at Marion General Hospital.
Robbie was born April 27th, 1961 in Dennison, Ohio to Suzette I. Woods with whom he shared a very special bond and Calvin Woods both of Dover and Thomas L. Jackson of Massillon.

Woods (fiancé Chelsey Guider), Kory A. Woods (Tiffany Wilson) and Marcus A. McGary all of Marion. Despite the challenges with his health Robbie looked forward to daily visits from his 6 grandchildren and took great pride in being “PawPaw” to Olivia Clemons, Jaela, Kylah, Avery, Ahmir, and Emoni Woods.
The oldest of his siblings Robbie was a very loving and protective big brother who always remained just a phone call away. Leaving to cherish those great memories are sisters Valerie Woods, Sonya (Kerry) Townsend both of Dayton, Jovon Black of Canton, Tracy Jackson of Booneville, MS; brothers, Dale (Diane) Woods of Steubenville, Calvin (CJ) Woods of Dover, and Vincent Alexander of Canton.
Also surviving are his grandmother, Aretha M. Walker, and his mother-in-law Shirley Avery. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles and very close friends all of whose lives he touched with his humor and infectious smile. He was preceded in death by his grandfather and namesake, Robert Macon Walker and father-in-law, Andrew H. Avery Sr.
Robbie was a 1980 graduate of Dover High School where he was an accomplished athlete and very well known around the state. He loved attending his children’s sporting events and took great pride in never missing a game. He could often be seen and heard coaching them on from the sidelines. He loved the outdoors with his typical day being spent fishing and playing with his grandchildren at the park.
The family also wishes to acknowledge Dr. Bob Singh and the incredible staff at Marion General Hospital’s ICU, Respitory, and Palliative Care Departments as well as to Community Care & Rehabilitation Center in Marion.
