Robert M. Davidson

June 23, 1926 — February 25, 2002

ROBERT M. DAVIDSON, 75, of Port Washington, died Monday, February 25, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton following a brief illness. Lovingly known by many as “Grandpa” or “Pops”, he was born June 23, 1926 in Hendrysburg, OH to the late James D. and Pearl C. Acton Davidson. He attended Massillon High School and was a truck driver for the Alternative Transport Co. working out of Cambridge. Bob had attended Trinity Gospel Temple in Canton. He enjoyed photography, riding his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle and surfing the internet. Two sisters, Marlys Shonk of Mesa, AZ and Barbara Wells of Wayne, MI as well as several nieces and nephews, survive him. In addition to his parents, his brother, Milton R. Davidson, preceded Bob in death. The memorial service will be Sunday, March 3, 2002 at 2:30 PM in the First Baptist Church, 216 W. Main St., Port Washington, with Rev. Isaac Hershberger officiating. Following cremation, his remains will be placed at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens Columbarium in Dover. Contributions to the American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate, P. O. Box 182039, Dept. 013, Columbus, OH 43218-2039 have been encouraged.
