Robert L. Mizer

Robert L Mizer, 69 of New Philadelphia, passed away February 19, 2015 in Union Hospital at Dover.

Born in Union Hospital on November 26, 1945, he was the son of the late Doras W. and Jane L. (Thomas) Mizer. After graduating from New Philadelphia High School in 1964, Bob spent his career working for the former Goshen Dairy and Smith Dairy. For numerous years, he owned and operated Mizer Lawn Care.

Bob was an avid New Philadelphia sports enthusiast. He also enjoyed taking his son, Nathan, to drag races in Norwalk. He deeply cared for his family and enjoyed making memories with them.

Bob is survived by his children, Nathan Mizer of New Philadelphia, Stephanie (Tim) Miller of New Philadelphia, and Matthew (Lindsey) Reynolds of New Mexico; his brothers, Dale Mizer of California and Garry (Marjorie) Mizer of Lebanon, Ohio; his grandchildren, Timmy, Cody, and Tony Miller and Audrina Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his uncle, Kenneth Mizer of Dover.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Tuesday from 12 noon to 2 p.m. A service celebrating Bob’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
